The
Federation
held
its
11th
display
day
at
Warmington
Village
Hall,
near
Peterborough
on
Sunday, 28th September, the 10th time that John Spencer had arranged the event.
The
displays
on
offer
were:
Post
Office
press
notices
for
special
issues,
1972
-78;
a
fine
mint
Barbados
collection
from
Queen
Victoria
to
George
VI,
including
die
proofs
and
over
prints;
an
illustrated
history
of
the
village
Castle
Rising
with
postal
history;
Revenues
of
Nyasaland
on
court
documents,
bills
of
exchange
and
proofs
of
debt;
Board
of
Trade
perfins,
including
fakes
on
stamps
and
cover;
a
further
selection
of
Board
of
Trade
perfins
on
post
cards;
a
brief
look
at
TPOs,
both
GB
and
from
abroad;
Squared
Circle
post
marks,
the
6
types
–
clearly
shown,
with
examples;
George
VI
issues
of
Antigua,
Bermuda,
Cayman
Isles,
Dominica
and
Grenada;
the
first
two
issues
of
the
Isle
of
Man,
with
booklets,
‘sachets’
and
errors;
Malawi
–
the
1988
bird
issue
with
original
artwork,
stages
in
the
production
process
and
overprints;
an
extensive
display
of
stamps, covers and ephemera on the topic of the Victoria Cross.
This
was
yet
another
most
enjoyable
and
sociable
day,
with
next
year’s
event
being
planned
for
the end of September 2026.
The
Federation’s
AGM
followed
with
Peter
Morton
being
installed
as
the
new
President
taking
over from Richard Husband.
